1月18日 PicturesWell, it is me again. Just wanted to let you all know that Maddog sent me some pictures (and yeah Mike I got them thanks.) I have added these pictures to the page so please feel free to take a look at them. I am in the process of getting a new video up as well. I am sure that video is old to everyone by now. Take it easy and see ya later.
Cpl. Fish 1月12日 Long TimeHello to everyone out there in blog land. Not sure really what to say here except for sorry for not doing anything new to this page in a very very long time. I have been slacking I know and I am sorry for that. There have been some changes in my life that some of you may already know about. But the majority of you probably do not know or do not care. One of the biggest changes in my life is I had to make one of the toughest decisions in my life....That was to leave the greatest place to work in the world. JEFFERSON COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE!!!! I did not leave because I didn't like the work, or that it was to hard or anything like that. I left because I had to make a decision on what was more important to me...My Family or my job....I am sure you now know what I picked. I would go back to work at the Sheriffs Office in a heart beat if I knew I could afford to do so. But sadly at this time I can not. I had to give up everything that I worked so hard to achieve there, one of those things was my K9 Jenny. A very hard thing for me to do. At least I know she is in good hands with a good friend and fellow officer Mike (Maddog) Jensen. I know he will take care of her and I know he will keep me updated on everything she does.....(you better dog or I will be pissed and come back and beat that @$$) But the hardest thing for me to leave there was the friendships I had made while working there. I loved everyone I worked with. The best people you can imagine. I doubt I will ever be able to find other friends who can fill theirs shoes. So to Colt, Aaron, Randy, Brian, Steve, Lynn, Korin, Rico, Ponch, Miller, Maddog, Wolfe, everyone on Rigby P.D. and everyone else....I will truely miss all of you, I could name everyone but I am sure you do not want me to. But if any of you guys are reading this I miss all of you and stay safe and I look forward to coming back and working with you again one day.
Don't feel to bad for me though, I have gone to a better place.....No, not there. I have moved to Maui, Hawaii. Lucky me huh!?! And a little on the brighter side, I have just been informed that I will be joing the Maui Police Force very soon. I am looking forward to getting back out on the streets doing the only thing that I know how to do. So again please do not feel to bad for me that I left the Sheriffs Office. I am not missing the cold one little bit.
One last thing that has changed for me is the fact that I ended up breaking both of my elbows at the same time. Yes at the same time. I know that is hard to do but when I do something I do it big. ha ha ha. I have been out of work now for almost two months and it sucks. You think it wouldn't be that bad to be oout of work, but there is very little things you can do besides sit around in pain all day long cause you can't move you elbows without them hurting. I did not have to have any casts put on or any surgery....yet..but, I have had to do a lot of Physical Therapy to try and regain the range of motion in my arms. That has been fun yet a challenge. But as of now I am almost there to regaing everything back.
Well, there you have it. I gave you a little bit of info on me again and I will try and keep this page updated as much as I can now. I will be adding some pictures and that soon, and I look forward to hearing from everyone as well. Take Care and I will talk to you later.
Cpl. Fish 4月14日 The MarineThis is a poem being sent from a Marine to his Dad. For those who take the time to read it, you'll see a letter from him to his Dad at the bottom. It makes you truly thankful for not only the Marines, but ALL of our troops. THE MARINE We all came together, Both young and old To fight for our freedom, To stand and be bold. In the midst of all evil, We stand our ground, And we protect our country >From all terror around. Peace and not war, Is what some people say. But I'll give my life, So you can live the American way. I give you the right To talk of your peace. To stand in your groups, and protest in our streets. But still I fight on; I don't bitch; I don't whine. I'm just one of the people Who is doing your time. I'm harder than nails, Stronger than any machine. I'm the immortal soldier, I'm a U.S. MARINE! So stand in my shoes, And leave from your home. Fight for the people who hate you, With the protests they've shown. Fight for the stranger, Fight for the young. So they all may have The greatest freedom you've won. Fight for the sick; Fight for the poor. Fight for the cripple, Who lives next door. But when your time comes, Do what I've done. For if you stand up for freedom, You'll stand when the fight's done. By: Corporal Aaron M. Gilbert, US Marine Corps USS SAIPAN, PERSIAN GULF March 23, 2003 Hey Dad, Do me a favor and label this "The Marine" and send it to everybody on your email list. Even leave this letter in it. I want this rolling all over the US ; I want every home reading it. Every eye seeing it. And every heart to feel it. So can you please send this for me? I would but my email time isn't that long and I don't have much time anyway. You know what Dad? I wondered what it would be like to truly understand what JFK said in His inaugural speech. "When the time comes to lay down my life for my country, I do not cower from this responsibility. I welcome it!" Well, now I know. And I do. Dad, I welcome the opportunity to do what I do. Even though I have left behind a beautiful wife, and I will miss the birth of our first born child, I would do it 70 times over to fight for the place that God has made for my home. I love you all and I miss you very much. I wish I could be there when Sandi has our baby, but tell her that I love her, and Lord willing, I will be coming home soon. Give Mom a great big hug from me and give one to yourself too. Aaron Aaron was assasinated by an IRAQ soldier while he was on patrol with 2 days left after his Dad received this poem and letter Please let this Marine (and all our military) know we care by passing his poem onto your friends even if you don't usually take time to forward mail... do it this time! Thanks If this touched you as much as it touched me, please forward it on. Let's help Aaron's dad spread the word... FREEDOM isn't FREE .someone pays for you and me. "Life is a coin. You can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once." 3月14日 WARNING EXTREME VIDEO!!!!PLEASE DO NOT LET YOUR CHILDREN WATCH THIS VIDEO. IT IS A VERY EXTREME VIDEO. THANKS. CPL. FISH 2月28日 For the Military and PoliceAn Open Letter from Ben Stein 02/02/2007 Dear Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, National Guard, Reservists, in Iraq, in the Middle East theater, in Afghanistan, in the area near Afghanistan, in any base anywhere in the world, and your families: Let me tell you about why you guys own about 90 percent of the backbone in the whole world right now and should be happy with yourselves and proud of whom you are. It was a dazzlingly hot day here in Rancho Mirage today. I did small errands like going to the bank to pay my mortgage, finding a new bed at a price I can afford, practicing driving with my new 5 wood, paying bills for about two hours. I spoke for a long time to a woman who is going through a nasty child custody fight. I got e-mails from a woman who was fired today from her job for not paying attention. I read about multi-billion-dollar mergers in Europe, Asia, and the Mideast . I noticed how overweight I am, for the millionth time. In other words, I did a lot of nothing. Like every other American who is not in the armed forces family, I basically just rearranged the deck chairs on the Titanic in my trivial, self-important, meaningless way. Above all, I talked to a friend of more than forty-three years who told me he thought his life had no meaning because all he did was count his money. And, friends in the armed forces, this is the story of all of America today. We are doing nothing but treading water while you guys carry on the life or death struggle against worldwide militant Islamic terrorism. Our lives are about nothing: paying bills, going to humdrum jobs, waiting until we can go to sleep and then do it all again. Our most vivid issues are trivia compared with what you do every day, every minute, every second. Oprah Winfrey talks a lot about "meaning" in life. For her, "meaning" is dieting and then having her photo on the cover of her magazine every single month (surely a new world record for egomania). This is not "meaning." Meaning is doing for others. Meaning is risking your life for others. Meaning is putting your bodies and families' peace of mind on the line to defeat some of the most evil, sick killers the world has ever known. Meaning is leaving the comfort of home to fight to make sure that there still will be a home for your family and for your nation and for free men and women everywhere. Look, soldiers and Marines and sailors and airmen and Coast Guardsmen, there are six billion people in this world. The whole fate of this world turns on what you people, 1.4 million, more or less, do every day. The fate of mankind depends on what about 2/100 of one percent of the people in this world do every day and you are those people. And joining you is every policeman, fireman, and Emergency Medical Technician in the country, also holding back the tide of chaos. Do you know how important you are? Do you know how indispensable you are? Do you know how humbly grateful any of us who has a head on his shoulders is to you? Do you know that if you never do another thing in your lives, you will always still be heroes? That we could live without Hollywood or Wall Street or the NFL, but we cannot live for a week without you? We are on our knees to you and we bless and pray for you every moment. And Oprah Winfrey, if she were a size two, would not have one millionth of your importance, and all of the Wall Street billionaires will never mean what the least of you do, and if Barry Bonds hits hundreds of home runs it would not mean as much as you going on one patrol or driving one truck to the Baghdad airport. You are everything to us, as we go through our little days, and you are in the prayers of the nation and of every decent man and woman on the planet. That's who you are and what you mean. I hope you know that. Love, Ben Stein 2月22日 Chilling Police FightsOk here as some fights that police officers have been in. These videos can get pretty scary. This is just one other thing that we have to put it up everyday. Please understand that we are not out here to try and hurt people, we do our job and at times it calls for extreme force to be used. The next time you deal with law enforcemnt, if you are not a police officer or something of the sort, please give us some respect and understand we are only here to help!!! Cpl. Fish
2月17日 Police chasesOk, You all have to take a look at this video. This is the type of stuff we have to put up with everyday. Some people hate the cops, but look at this video and see the type of crap we have to go through to help keep everyone safe. This video is amazing and yet at the same time gives me the chills, some of the crashes on it are amazing to see. Cpl. Fish
1月9日 Family GuyAlright, well i hope this doesn't make anyone think any less of me here. But I love the show "Family Guy" on t.v. There have been some episodes where i have started to cry i was laughing so hard at it. I found this video clip on the internet of the voices of the show. Now you don't get to hear all of the voices, but most of them. The only one missing is Seth Green a.k.a. "Chris Griffin" But I thought it was cool to see who did all the voices for everyone else. Everyone does great with the voices. Seth MacFarlane is a real genius. And i must say he cracks me up in the show. So if your a fan of "Family Guy" Then you might like to see who does all the voices behind it. And if by any chance, anyone that works on the show happens to see this.......Keep up the great work.
Cpl. Fish 12月7日 Letterman is the bestOk, so if you are a fan of David Letterman. You will love what he does here to Richard Simmons. Richard is trying to talk about his new steamer, but, like always letterman is having fun. Listen to what he says to Richard while he is talking about the price of the steamer, and then watch what he does to make fun of him. you have to love it. I started crying when i first seen this.
Cpl. Fish. 11月11日 Police administrator tells the press how it is!!!!Ok, I was sent this in an email, and i loved it. Any police officer out there would. Just listen to what this administrator has to say to the press about the way they are reporting the death of a police officer. I agree 100% on what he is saying, and i hope that every admin out there for police are willing to back their guys like he is here. I work with a great admin, that does back us up on what we do as long as we were in the right. And there is nothing better then a coworker who has your back. Pass this video on if you like, no worries here. And may God watch over all of us brothers in blue. Cpl. Fish 11月3日 The Badge
He starts his shift each day He's paid by the citizens' taxes Now he doesn't know a holiday He's cursed and assaulted often, His friends are always other cops He knows there might not be a tomorrow And each day when he leaves for work, But tonight he stops a speeding car, Well, he walks up to the driver's window, Yes, the bullet hit its mark, So he lay on the ground bleeding. Bell Richland County Sheriff's Department 10月17日 Ned calls the gay & lesbian channelOk everyone, you have to listen to this call. I know it is a fake, prank call, but it should get you laughing out there. So just sit back and listen to what good ole' boy "Ned" has to say about the new gay and lesbian channel that is about to go onto t.v. When i first heard it, i laughed so hard i started to cry it is great.
Cpl. Fish 9月15日 Numa Numa GuyHey there it is me again, just thought that i would write and see what was going on. Also i added the new Numa Numa video to my page, the first time i seen the old numa numa video i laughed so hard i was in tears, so i thought if any of you liked it, you might like the second, the song is a little better but the video is kinda lame, so sorry if you do not like it. let me know. Cpl. Fish 8月27日 Just a cop"Just A Cop"The funeral line was long,There's an awful lot of cars,Folks came out of the restaurants,They came out of the bars. The workers at the construction sitesAll let their hammers drop.Someone asked. "What is this all for?"And they said, "Aw, just a Cop."Some chuckled at the passing cars. Some shed a silent tearSome people said," It's stupid.""All these dumb policemen here.""How come they are not out fighting crime?""Or in a doughnut shop?""Sure is a lot of trouble,For someone who's just a Cop." They blocked the intersections,They blocked the interstate.People yelled and cursed,"Damn, it's gonna make me late!""This is really ridiculous!""They're makin' us all stop!""It seems they are sure wastin' time,On someone who's just a Cop." Into the cemetery now,The slow procession comes,The woeful Taps are slowly played. There's loud salutes from guns. The graveyard workers shake their heads"This service is a flop.""There's lots of good words wasted,On someone who's just a Cop" Yeah, just a Cop to most folks.Did his duty every day.Trying to protect us,Till they took his life away. And when he got to heaven,St. Peter put him at the top.An angel asked him, "Who was that?"And he said, "Aw, just a Cop." The Judgment: The Officer stood and faced his God,Which must always come to pass.He hoped his shoes were shinning,Just as brightly as his brass."Step forward now, Officer,How shall I deal with you?Have you always turned the other cheek? To my church have you been true?" The Officer squared his shoulder and said,"No, Lord, I guess I aint,Because those of us who carry badges can'talways be a saint. I've had to work most Sundays,And at times my talk was rough,And sometimes I've been violentBecause the streets are tough. But I never took a pennyThat wasn't mine to keep.Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep. And I never passed a cry for helpThough at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me,I've wept an unmanly tear.I know I don't deserve a placeamong the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear. If you've a place for me here, Lord,it needn't be so grand.I never expected or had too much,But if you don't...I'll understand. There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod.As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God. "Step forward now, Officer.""You've borne your burdens well.""Come walk a beat on heaven's streets,""You've done your time in Hell"
7月10日 PLEASE DO NOT TAKE OFFENSE TO THIS!!!!A Marine was attending some college courses between assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. One of the courses had a professor who was an avowed atheist and a member of the ACLU. One day he shocked the class when he came in, looked to the ceiling, and flatly stated, "God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform! I'll give you exactly 15 minutes. The lecture room fell silent - you could hear a pin drop. Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, "Here I am God. I'm still waiting." It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him; knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold. The Marine went back to his seat and sat there, silently. The other students were shocked and stunned and sat there looking on in silence. The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked, "What the hell is the matter with you? Why did you do that?" The Marine calmly replied, "God was too busy today protecting America's soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid shit and act like an asshole. So He sent me." God bless our soldiers!!!!!! Cpl. Fish 7月4日 IdiotsWell, it is the 4th of July and you know what that means....Every idiot that knows how to drive is out there driving on the roads. And there excuse is always the same..."i am just here to see the fireworks." Let me tell you a story.
Tonight, the 3rd of July our county has decided to do a fire work show at the lake in the area. So everybody was out there doing that. It was a great show. But the worse was yet to come. You know how it is. You go to see the show and everythinig is good until you want to get out of there. If you leave sooner then anyone else, then you are ok. But if you wait until the show is over and then try to leave....good luck!! But anyways, i was sitting out on the road trying to help keep the traffic running smoothly. I was doing a damn good job of it as well.
Well, here i am standing on the road, trying to stop a vehicle that is headed my way. I wanted to stop him so i could let the other cars go through. I had my hand up, was using my handy dandy flash light and everything. But i could tell he was not going to stop. He just kept driving straight for me. I finally had to jump out of the way of the pick-up as it went past me. (just to give you an idea of how close it was to hitting me, If i would have blinked, my eye lashes would have hit the pick-up.) Well, maybe not that close, but i was only about a foot away from being road kill.
Scary situation for a cop to be in. I was pissed, and the driver still did not stop. So what did i do..? I screwed up, and through my handy dandy flash light at the pick-up. All i heard was a loud bang and then the driver finally stopped. I was still pissed off. As i got up there the driver was very sorry for what had happened. After i chewed him for a little bit, i then began to apoligize as well. I know that is not how a cop is supposed to act. But like i said, i was PISSED. But i checked the pick-up and there was no damage done to it at all. My poor flash light though got the worst end of it. I no longer have that flash light anymore.
I told the Sheriff what happened, and i could tell, he was a little upset, but at the same time understood. I explained what happened to the Sheriff and he told me to just make a note of it just in case. Man, it sure is a good thing that I work for such a damn good Sheriff. I thought for sure i would be getting a little taken off my back end if you know what i mean.
But anyways, please be careful out there and have a safe 4th of July. This is a time to celebrate. So have fun doing it, but still be careful.
Cpl. throws flash light at cars. 6月26日 BambiWell, I am back and i wanted everyone to know that i made the world a little safer just the other day. Let me tell you the story.
I get a call to go to last sunday about an animal that was crossing the highway out here. One person called in and said it was a deer, and a second call come in and they said it was not a deer but a steer. So i am thinking to myself, "man can't people tell what kind of animal is on the road." But anyways i head out to the area and there was nothing out there. A couple people were still sitting on the side of the road so i pull up to them to speak with them about it. They told me it was a deer and it looked like it back legs were broken. They said it jumped into the river and started to swim down stream. So i thought i better go check it out, so i drive all the way down to the other side and was never able to find it. So what did i do....I left...duh.
About an hour later another call came in and said this deer was sitting in someones yard. So i drive over to that address to see if it was there and sure enough, there it was, a small bambi like deer. The person that called it in told me when i got there that both of it's back legs were broken, so i walked over to it to take a look and sure enough they were broke. Both of them. I walk back to my car and grabbed my trusty mini 14. The deer took one look at that and got that look in his eyes, as if he was saying..."the hell with that i am out of here." It then jumped back into the small little canal that was by the house and started to kinda float down stream again. I layed across the bridge there and took aim on it. I mean come on, it was only in the best intrest of the deer, why let it suffer, it would have died at some point.
As i got a good beed on the back of it's head, one of the guys that were out there bet me $5.00 that i would not be able to hit it. (at this point the deer was probably about 35 yards down stream.) I looked at him and said i will take that bet. (little did he know that cops do know how to shoot guns) So i got a good aim on the back of it's head again, i used controlled breathing....and all of a sudden........Bam! one shot. I was able to hit the deer in the back of the head and killed it. I had dispatch call Fish & Game to inform them they needed to come and pick it up. I then drove further down stream and pulled the deer out. After i got the deer out, i went back to the guy who wanted to make the bet and informed him he just lost $5.00. He was going to pay me but i told him to hang onto his money. I was not going to take it.
So as you can see, Deer season opened up a little sooner this year for me. And bambi will no longer be out running the streets. I sent him to be reunited with mommy again, in the big fields in the sky.
No i know this may not be as fun as Towers Beaver hunting story, but at least i got a bigger animal then he did....hahaha.
Anyways, take care and i will talk to you later.
Cpl. Killed Bambi with one shot. 6月19日 More dog workHey everyone it is me again. As you can see i added a new video to my page. This is a second video that i made of us working with the dogs some more. We had a great time and got a lot of new things taught to ous.
We got the chance to work with some of californias top dog trainers, (they are in the video with their dogs as well) I also added a link to their web page on here so go and check it out.
Shrek (one of the city officers here) got a chance to be in the bite suit...but he also got to see what it was like to get a real bite from the dog. you can see it in the video. the poor guy. But he said he is not going to let that stop him from getting in the suit again. He is a real team player...haha. But i hope you like the video. i will get an updated version of it soon to everyone. take care. 6月2日 Baby BluesHey it is me again. I know that i have not been doing the entire blogging thing like i should be, but i have a really good reason why. Let me tell you the story...
It was a cold, stormy night..i was sound asleep in my nice warm bed when all of a sudden there was a bright light that lite up the room like the 4th of July as the lighting streaked through the sky. The thunder rolled through the house shaking the walls and windows. I jumped out of bed and looked just as i seen the shadowy figure of a man walking down the hall way towards our room. I reached for my trusty side arm sitting beside me on the night stand. I tried to focus my aim on the man as he reached the door way. I took a quick look at my wife laying in bed, and a thought ran through my head..."what about my daughter in the other room?" And then another thought came to mind...."please God, guide my mind and my aim so that i may protect my families lifes." He walked in the room, i yelled and ordered him to the ground. He did not move. I seen him reach down and pull something out of his jacket. The lighting flashed again and i got a quick look at the object he held in his hand, some sort of cutting tool. I yelled at him again and ordered him to drop what he had and get on the ground. Again he refused to do as told. He looked right at me and began to speak. The word out of his mouth was..."do you want to cut the cord?"
Hey come on people, where did you think this was going? I'm just messing with ya. The real reason is because my wife gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Riley is her name, and crying and keeping dad up all night is her game. She is now my second child and i love both my girls to death. (oh, and my wife. I can't forget about her) But i would like a boy some day. So if anybody knows the secrets of how to have a boy, please let me know. Is there something like i have to wait for all the planets to line up or something like that first? Hell who knows.
But anyways, i have been gone from the web blogging for a little while, helping my wife with the kids. She needs her rest and i am more then happy to lay with my 2 year old on those scary monster nights, or to cuddle up to my new born and have her sleep on daddys chest at night just so mommy can get a little rest.
But i am back now and i will try and keep everyone updated on life and how things are going for us here in our neck of the woods. Take care and it was good to write to all of you again.
Cpl. Can't get any sleep 5月10日 Policemans Prayer"Policeman's Prayer" When I start my tour of duty God, Please give me understanding with both the young and old. Lord if some dark and dreary night, (Author Unknown)
